Day-to-day responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, and subcontractors to integrate M&E systems with overall building design.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely project delivery.
- Supervise on-site installation and testing of M&E systems, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct testing and commissioning of M&E systems to verify performance and functionality.
- Review and approve technical submissions, drawings, and method statements from subcontractors.
- Liaise with clients, authorities, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
Qualifications and Requirements
Must-haves
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven track record of success in managing M&E projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of M&E systems and relevant building codes.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) certification.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Experience with sustainable or “green” building technologies.
- Previous experience working in the construction industry.
