Job summary

A renewable energy solutions provider located in Singapore is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to oversee the tendering process and project budgeting for solar and battery energy storage projects. The ideal candidate should have experience in renewable energy systems, especially in BESS, and possess strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. This role demands attention to detail and the ability to manage relationships with subcontractors and vendors in a dynamic environment.

Job description

Responsible for all works including but not limit to the tendering process, project budgeting, processing claims, preparing & analysing costs for tenders and other project related matters to ensure quality and timeliness in delivery of the assigned tasks.

The individual must be familiar with both pre- and post-contract duties, cost control, and handling variations. In addition, to source new vendors, review prices, and manage subcontractors. The role also requires assisting the project team with contractual matters, including claims for extensions of time and expenses.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Understand solar or BESS tender project specifications and requirements in order to prepare comprehensive bid proposals
  • Review solar photovoltaic (PV) proposal, conduct initial analysis
  • Work closely with sales team to provide accurate costings and proposals
  • Work closely with the Project Team to provide cost and contractual advice as well as to determine the valuation of work done at site
  • Prepare and submit tender costings/technical proposals and ensure timeline are met for every tender submission
  • Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for good terms on quotations and requirements as technical data are required due to every project’s requirement varies
  • Familiar with applicable codes, standards and regulations in Singapore Authorities especially SCDF, EMA, etc
  • Perform site measurements and amounts on job sites to match project requirements
  • Implement cost control measures to track project expenses, identify variances, and mitigate budget overruns
  • Preferably able to keep detailed records of contracts to help with audits and rules
  • Prepare project cost estimation and break down
  • Arrange tender kick off meeting and briefing to the project team on the work scope
  • Any other relevant job duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Degree/Diploma in Engineering, preferably in Electrical or a relevant PV engineering field
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in the areas of renewable energy systems and/or deployment of BESS in Singapore project only
  • Experience in various renewables and clean energy sources with applications and utilisation of latest technology Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) will be an advantage
  • Preferably with knowledge in the sizing of the BESS and applications of the various BESS technologies
  • Have understanding of Singapore and/or SE-Asia Solar PV design and installation standards for grid-connected solar and energy storage system
  • Familiar with industry standards and regulations related to battery safety, performance and 2nd life reuse including state of health monitoring
  • Good knowledge and experience in tendering projects and cost estimation
  • Must be able to understand technical drawings and requirements as well as to convey technical concepts effectively
  • Detail oriented, good communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Maintain good relationships with subcontractors and vendors
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
