Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is looking for a Project Engineer/Senior Project Engineer to assist in managing projects related to firefighting systems and safety equipment. The role requires 3-5 years of experience and a diploma in mechanical or marine offshore engineering. Responsibilities include project monitoring, document submission, and logistics management.

Qualifications

  • Min 3 to 5 years’ experience in firefighting systems, lifesaving appliances, and rescue & safety equipment.
  • Strong supervisory and management experience in projects and processes.
  • Experience in management of projects and work processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in managing and monitoring the project progress.
  • Coordinate efforts from internal stakeholders for effective delivery.
  • Attend to daily project tasks including document submissions and factory acceptance tests.
  • Lead and organize shipment and logistics work.

Skills

Experience in firefighting systems
Knowledge of lifesaving appliances
Understanding of safety regulations (SOLAS, FSS)

Education

Diploma in mechanical/marine offshore engineering

Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Assist the Project Manager in managing and monitoring the project progress to meet contractual requirements and timely delivery of committed work-scope within agreed schedule
  • Coordinate effort from internal stakeholders and ensure effective delivery of contractual commitments
  • Attend to daily tasks relating to project work, consisting but not limited to the following:
    • (a) Prompt submission of documents (Engineering Design, Project Execution Plan, Schedule Progress Reports, Work Procedures, Derived Results, etc…) to clients and coordinate with internal stakeholders to address findings from these submittals.
    • (b) Conduct Factory Acceptance Test, working with the team, client & EPC to explain the test process, demonstrate test performance with record of results.
    • (c) Lead and organize shipment / logistic work and ensure product is delivered according to contractual obligation.
    • (d) Identify and alert higher management of potential risk exposure
Requirements
  • Min 3 to 5 years’ experience in firefighting system, lifesaving appliances and rescue & safety equipment
  • Min Diploma in mechanical / marine offshore engineering
  • Strong understanding of firefighting system & lifesaving & safety systems and relevant regulations such as SOLAS, FSS & marine classification rules and regulations
  • Experience in supervisory and management or projects, people, work processes
