Job summary

A prominent engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Project Manager to coordinate major projects from order to delivery. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering or Commerce, have at least 2 years of experience in a sales or engineering environment, and possess excellent communication and organization skills. You will be responsible for managing project deliverables and maintaining strong customer relations.

Qualifications

  • Good understanding of project P&L and cash flow.

Job description

Main Accountabilities:

1. Coordinate major/complex projects from order to delivery at customer site

  • Establish a project plan in compliance with Prince II principles
  • Be a single point of contact for the customerand internal team
  • Manage the project deliverables

2. Monitor the scheduling, process and delivery time of the production process.

  • Confers with managers, customers and others to discuss the project status and to modify contract schedules on time when necessary
  • Reviews contracts to determine what documentation is required for each phase of the project.

3. Manage an on time and accurate variation order in coordination with the responsible Account/Sales Manager and Field Application Engineer and the MDSC team for final approval.

  • Carry out a contract review prior to acceptance of the order

4. Manage completion of the project deliverables, including placing order for all materials, delivery of commissioning and installation services, progressing of PO, completion of documents, shipping requirements and invoicing.

  • Checking drawings and technical specifications, ensure complete order files
  • Coordinate with Service & Installation for comissioning and services, with purchasing to ensure on time delivery of material, with manufacturing to ensure production in compliance with scheduled timelines, with finance to ensure on time invoicing in accordance with agreed prices and margins

5. Continues inform customer about the status of production, make sure that changes in time schedules (delivery time) or prices are communicated and adjusted on time when necessary.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Electrical degree in engineering or Commerce
  • Prince II certificate (preferred) will be an added advantage
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in sales / engineering environment
  • Basic understanding of commercial/contract law
  • Good understanding of a project P&L and cash flow
  • Good basic knowledge of electrical engineering processes
  • Computer literate
  • Fluent in English
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizing and planning skills
  • Real team player, ability to create enthusiasm, team spirit,motivation among colleagues and to create long term relations
  • Proactive and assertive
  • Able to work under high pressure and meeting tight deadlines
