Position Summary
The Project Director is responsible for leading, planning, and executing large-scale building construction projects from inception to completion. This role oversees project strategy, resources, budgeting, stakeholder communication, timelines, safety compliance, and quality standards to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Project Leadership & Strategy
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all construction project phases.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and resource allocation frameworks.
- Monitor project progress and performance against milestones and KPIs.
- Project Execution & Management
- Oversee day-to-day project operations and ensure timely completion.
- Manage design coordination, tendering, procurement, and site mobilization.
- Review and approve project budgets, BOQs, contracts, and variations.
- Ensure adherence to building regulations, codes, and company standards.
- Stakeholder & Team Coordination
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams (engineers, architects, consultants, contractors).
- Conduct project meetings with consultants, subcontractors, and client representatives.
- Maintain strong communication channels with clients and stakeholders.
- Cost & Resource Management
- Prepare and monitor project budgets and cost control measures.
- Approve procurement requests and evaluate quotations/contracts.
- Analyze project risks and implement corrective measures.
- Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and risk management protocols.
- Implement quality control procedures and construction best practices.
- Conduct periodic site inspections and audits.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Provide progress reports, forecasts, and executive briefs to upper management.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and records.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management / Architecture (Master’s Preferred).
- 5+ years experience in building construction, with 5+ years in senior project management.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale residential / commercial / industrial projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, contracts (e.g., FIDIC), and safety standards.
