Job description

Our client is a global provider of data centre design, construction, and managed services, delivering integrated technical solutions across electrical, mechanical, and connectivity systems. The organisation is committed to delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and sustainable infrastructure for clients worldwide, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, integrity, and operational excellence.

Location: Batam (Indonesia)
About the Role

The Projects Director acts as the senior account and delivery owner for key customer portfolios, serving as the single point of accountability for project lifecycle performance — from bid and pre-commencement through to practical completion and client handover. This leadership role combines commercial, technical, and operational oversight, ensuring each project is executed safely, profitably, and to the highest international standards. The position drives client satisfaction, team performance, and continuous improvement across all project functions.

Responsibilities
  • Provide executive-level leadership across all project phases, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and commercial objectives.
  • Serve as the primary interface with clients, maintaining strong relationships and driving account growth and profitability.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver design, build, and commissioning of data centre projects, ensuring technical compliance and timely execution.
  • Oversee bid development and pre-construction activities, ensuring proposals meet business and client expectations.
  • Manage commercial performance, including risk, opportunity, and financial reporting (CVR, forecasting, and P&L oversight).
  • Direct and support subcontractor management, ensuring compliance with specifications, HSE standards, and programme schedules.
  • Maintain and enforce ISO standards, company processes, and data protection policies.
  • Actively participate in strategic business development and client engagement initiatives.
  • Drive leadership and people development, conducting performance reviews, mentoring team members, and identifying talent potential.
  • Promote company values through professional representation at industry events and customer meetings.
Requirements
  • Professional certification such as PMP or equivalent, with 5+ years in senior project leadership roles.
  • Degree in Engineering, Business, or a elated field preferred.
  • Proven expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, with hands‑on experience managing complex infrastructure installations.
  • Demonstrated experience in data centre projects — including white space, grey space, and connectivity environments.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with P&L management capability.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and relationship management at executive level.
  • Solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations, ideally with formal certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, coach emerging leaders, and manage performance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
  • Flexibility to travel regionally or internationally as required.
