We are hiring on behalf of a global MNC in the maritime industry with a growing project team in India. The company leads newbuilding and vessel conversion projects across Asia, known for delivering quality, compliance, and timely execution. As part of this expansion, we are looking to hire a Project Controller – Newbuilding Projects to be based in Mumbai. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with global stakeholders and contribute to the success of complex shipbuilding programs through structured project control, analytics, and interdepartmental coordination.

Project Controller (Based in Mumbai, India)

The Project Controller will play a key role in supporting project execution by ensuring accurate tracking of schedule, cost, and risk elements, maintaining updated documentation, and providing coordination support between engineering, procurement, and site teams. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role ensures timely and actionable insights for informed decision‑making and project performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update project schedules and trackers in collaboration with Project Managers.
  • Prepare and follow up on meeting minutes and action item logs.
  • Track project costs and assist with budget vs. actual updates on a monthly basis.
  • Support stakeholder communication, ensuring timely follow‑ups with engineering, procurement, and site teams.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to collect deliverables and elevate delays or risk indicators.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and reports to support internal and external reviews.
  • Assist with project coordination tasks, vendor communication, and site-level updates.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Naval Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
  • 2–3 years of project coordination or project controls experience in shipbuilding, marine, oil & gas, or EPC industries.
  • Familiarity with project tools such as MS Project, SAP, Primavera, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical, coordination, and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Strong communication and time‑management skills with a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.
