Job summary

PIXEL AUTOMATION PTE. LTD. is seeking an engineer to translate customer requirements into mechanical design specifications and executable control system concepts. You will develop system architecture, create wiring diagrams, BOMs, and PLC/PC programs while coordinating with internal teams and customers.

The role requires driving design reviews, updating drawings, and supporting panel and field wiring teams to ensure quality and safety standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of design specifications based on customer requirements, organizational goals, and business strategies.
• Conceptualize and develop solutions based on project requirements and company standards through simulations/modelling.
• Develop design specification sheets based on mechanical design and update as required.
• Distribute design details to relevant teams and develop system architecture considering manufacturability, cost, quality and safety.
• Initiate and carry out internal design reviews to share modules with other departments.
• Initiate and carry out design reviews with customers based on project schedules.
• Revise design and documents based on internal and external reviews.
• Create wiring diagrams for control panels and field wiring; obtain approvals.
• Create BOMs for panels and sub-panels based on the design schedule.
• Prepare drawing release files and issue drawings for quotation on panel and field wiring.
• Send out standard part lists for quotation based on BOM.
• Receive quotations and prepare price comparison sheets.
• Raise PRs and obtain department manager approvals for purchasing.
• Prepare offline PLC/PC programs for various panels per design requirements.
• Make necessary design updates and get approvals from department manager.
• Release revised drawings to wiring and assembly teams.
• Support panel and field wiring teams as needed.
• Carry out PLC I/O configuration, device driver setup, I/O checks and wiring integrity checks.
• Set up and debug PLC/PC programs.
• Perform all activities per the project schedule and meet applicable quality standards.
• Develop, train, and educate junior engineers, guiding technical direction and liaising with customers.

• Develop design specification sheet based on Mechanical design and update as and when required and distribute to relevant Develop system architecture based on mechanical design, flow chart and other control system requirement specified by customer taking in to consideration of optimised design for manufacturing, cost, quality and safety.
• Initiate and carry out internal design reviews to share and explain the completed modules with other departments.
• Initiate and carry out design review with customer based on project schedule
• Revise design and documents based on both internal and external review
• Create wiring diagram for various control panels and filed wiring and approval from department manager
• Create Bill Of Materials (BOM) for various panels and sub panels based on design schedule given
• Create drawing release file and send out drawings for panel and field wiring quotation
• Send out standard part list for quotation based on BOM
• Receive quotation and make price comparison spreadsheet
• Raise PR and get department manager approval and send to Purchase department for negotiation and ordering
• Prepare offline PLC/PC program for various panels based on the design requirements.
• Make necessary modifications needed, update design, drawings and get approval from department manager.
• Release revised drawings to wiring and assembly team
• Support panel and filed wiring team as and when necessary
• Carry out PLC I/O configuration, Netother devise driver set up and carry out I/O check and wiring integrity check
• Set up and debug PLC/PC program
• Carry out all the activities based on the project schedule given
• Meet quality standards while maintaining working knowledge of relevant technologies and best practices, and upholding company policies, internal, customer standards for machine building and safety.
• Develop, train, and educate junior engineers, guide technical direction, and act as a technical liaison between customers
