As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

In this role, you will lead on grantmaking initiatives and programs across the region. You will work across the regional and topical portfolios to research and evaluate where our efforts can add value. While there will be a focus on the Scientific Progress pillar, you will be expected to work on a range of programs as needs change. You will evaluate organizations and work with them to design projects that fit the strategy and goals, assessing their potential for impact. You will be involved in creating, supporting, and leading gatherings of grantees focused on knowledge exchange and leadership growth.

Job responsibilities
  • Localize global initiatives, identify promising grantees, and build partnerships to address critical needs in Asia‑Pacific (APAC).
  • Manage initiatives to support social impact organizations to leverage and apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help local communities in key areas such as Health, Education, Agriculture, etc.
  • Ensure operational excellence by managing budgets, agreements, and vendor relationships while evaluating program effectiveness.
  • Advise Google executives on philanthropic investments in areas like Artificial Intelligence (AI) for social good, digital skilling, and online safety.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams, Google.org teams, and the global Applied Sciences Grantmaking team to align strategy, share best practices, and maximize impact in APAC. Scope, execute, and oversee grants to help social impact organizations and apply AI in priority areas in APAC.
Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management, strategy consulting, or philanthropy with a focus on the APAC region.
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with the APAC region's social, economic, and regulatory environment.
  • Experience in managing projects with attention to details and setting goals.
  • Experience in developing strategies across projects, products or regions
  • Ability to translate goals into grantmaking strategies that drive social impact.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple grants and ensure compliance with goals and operational standards.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders including grantees, government officials, and internal teams.
