Job Description
  • Undertake Bid Manager duties as allocated by the Key Account Manager or Business Manager.
  • Manage the strict compliance of the program team to legal obligations and ITAR regulations.
  • Prepare the bid and manage its authorized release to customers.
  • Manage the Contract Review process, which must, at a minimum, address timescales, technical data, statement of work, and financial, commercial, and legal matters.
  • Own and manage the Project Plan by liaising closely with the Design, Operations, Finance, Commercial, and Legal departments to ensure that all customer requirements are clearly understood and can be met by the agreed deadline.
  • Manage the formal Design Review process, which at a minimum will include:
    • i. Preliminary Design Review (PDR)
    • ii. Critical Design Review (CDR)
    • iii. Final Design Review (FDR)
    • iv. Production Readiness Review (PRR)
    • v. Additional reviews may be required for complex programs
  • Manage any changes to the contract deliverables or agreed scope of work and request contract amendments as appropriate. Any requests for contract amendments should be managed and authorized as per the original bid.
  • Manage and be responsible for the program cost budget. To generate, monitor and report cost accumulation profiles for each program in a timely manner such that the project team and company senior management is aware of spend to date, committed costs and forecast cost to completion.
  • Maintain a risk register, proactively manage risk (e.g. financial, legal, technical, timescale) to highlight the risks with recommended corrective action.
  • Manage the program interface with the customer and ensure that documentation is properly stored, filed and communicated with the project team and those Company staff who need to be aware or involved.
Job Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Technology, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • More than five years of relevant experience in an engineering or high-tech environment.
  • Proven success in managing full product lifecycles and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Proven Project Management experience and management of product through life cycle.
  • Strong communication skills.
