The Production Supervisor has primary accountability to the Production Manager for the efficient and on‑time delivery of slit insulation materials and insulation component parts. Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all consumables are requisitioned and delivered to the production work stations on time for production to commence.
  • Work together with Production Team Leaders and Operators to check that all required machinery, equipment and tools are available and in good working condition; flag any issues that may impede production to the Production Manager and Maintenance Department for immediate rectification.
  • Review production orders received from Sales and plan the daily production schedule.
  • Chair toolbox meetings and check attendance of Team Leads and Operators at the start of each shift; if unplanned absences arise, seek temporary resources from other sections, or re‑prioritise the manufacturing operations as necessary to meet delivery commitments and inform the Production Manager and Sales Team of any changes.
  • Update HR Department on status of any late reporting or absenteeism by employees.
  • Arrange overtime early in the shift when necessary and submit overtime requests to the Production Manager for approval.
  • Visit every workstation to observe work, ensuring adherence to approved SOPs and quality specifications, monitoring production progress, handling raw materials appropriately, and completing all essential documentation.
  • Inspect the quality of finished components (conduct random checks) and confirm correct quantities; report any quality or production issues promptly to the Production Manager or Sales Team.
  • Identify and report potential equipment or tool issues to Maintenance Engineer and Production Manager to prevent downtime.
  • Ensure safety at work, including proper use of equipment, elimination of hazards, correct PPE usage, and recommend safety improvements.
  • Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness in accordance with 6S principles.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements—such as reducing cycle time, eliminating errors and rework, minimizing material handling, reducing waste, and achieving zero errors using Lean Manufacturing methodologies—and collaborate with relevant colleagues to execute improvement plans.
  • Monitor and analyse staff productivity through production timesheets.
  • Conduct other duties as requested by the Production Manager.
  • Receive and check production orders, customers’ drawings, BOMs, SOPs and Work Instructions from the Production Engineer.
  • Instruct the Production Team to manufacture products according to customers’ requirements and delivery dates; liaise with Team Leaders on raw material availability.
  • Receive in‑process inspection reports from the Production Engineer, instruct the Production Team to conduct inspections, verify the reports, then submit them to the Production Manager; scan and keep soft copies of orders with inspection reports.
  • Request final inspection from the QA team once goods are completed.
  • Submit production orders and packing details to Production Admin for closing, and confirm closing completion.
  • Provide any training required for Operators to implement process improvement initiatives and report these to the Production Manager.

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Willingness to be hands‑on and learn the operation of all machines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in SAP is an added advantage.
