Job summary

A leading construction company in Singapore is seeking a Store Manager to oversee daily operations of the stockroom. Responsibilities include managing inventory, tracking tools, and ensuring efficient store layout. Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of experience, are detail-oriented, and possess good organizational skills. Proficiency in Excel is necessary. Key Responsibilities
Daily Store Operations
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the store that supports production and site installation teams
  • Receive, label, store, and issue tools, materials, and consumables in an organised and timely manner
  • Ensure that items are neatly stored, well-labelled, and easy to access
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping in the store at all times
Issuance and Tracking
  • Track movement of frequently used items (e.g. adhesives, blades, sealants) and update records accordingly
  • Maintain a manual or digital log of items issued to staff or jobs
  • Monitor the return of reusable tools and equipment
System Setup & Improvement
  • Assist management in setting up a basic inventory tracking system (Excel, manual logs, or software)
  • Recommend improvements to the store layout, labelling, or process to improve efficiency and accountability
  • Help establish min/max stock levels for key consumables
Stock Monitoring & Replenishment
  • Conduct periodic stock checks and highlight low-stock items
  • Prepare purchase requests for commonly used materials and tools in advance
  • Liaise with Procurement or Purchasing staff to ensure timely restocking
Tool Care & Reporting
  • Check and report damaged or missing tools
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of equipment to minimise loss or misuse
  • Keep a record of high-value tools checked out to individuals or teams
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a store or stockroom role, preferably in construction, fabrication, or manufacturing
  • Familiar with tools and materials used in stone or worktop fabrication is a strong advantage
  • Able to work independently and responsibly
  • Comfortable with manual handling of items (within safe limits)
  • Proficient in using Excel or simple inventory logs
  • Organised, trustworthy, and detail-oriented
Preferred but Not Required
  • Experience in setting up or improving manual stock control systems
  • Familiarity with adhesives, abrasives, blades, and other materials related to fabrication and installation
  • Forklift license or experience operating store equipment is a bonus
