Job summary

A medical product manufacturing company in Singapore is seeking a Production Manager responsible for overseeing the entire manufacturing process. You will ensure compliance with safety and quality standards while managing production schedules and personnel. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Science or Engineering, along with at least 3 years of experience in manufacturing health products. This role requires excellent management skills and the ability to conduct training in both English and Chinese.

He/She oversees all aspects of the manufacturing process, ensuring efficient production operations, compliance with industry standards, and the timely delivery of high-quality products. He/She manages resources, enforces safety protocols, and works closely with other departments to meet production targets while maintaining cost control. He/She involves optimizing production processes, troubleshooting issues, managing budgets, and ensuring adherence to quality/regulatory requirements to support the company’s goals and growth.

Responsibilities
  • Implemented and monitor GMP throughout production processes.
  • Verify and approve completed activities in production records.
  • Develop and manage production schedules to meet demand and optimize resource use.
  • Ensure adequate staffing, equipment and materials/ingredients/consumables for efficient production.
  • Investigate and resolve any deviations during production processes.
  • Manage and supervise production personnel, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing guidance.
  • Identify opportunities for production process improvements.
  • Oversee the maintenance and calibration of production equipment.
  • Oversee the maintenance and cleaning of production areas.
  • Ensure that production activities, waste disposal, and environmental controls comply with local safety work regulations.
  • Oversee the management of materials/ingredients/intermediates in production areas.
  • Purchase qualified materials/ingredients/consumables for timely replenishment.
  • Develop and implement controls to mitigate identified risks in production areas.
  • Provide training to production workers and monitor performance.
  • Review accurate/truthful product labeling and promotional materials to ensure compliance with the latest relevant regulations.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • Diploma/ Bachelor’s Degree in Science/ Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing health products.
  • Experience in production management with exposure in compliance, safety, quality control, and efficiency.
  • Experience in overseeing and implementing manufacturing processes, scheduling, staff management, and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of GxP standards (theoretical understanding and practical implementation) for quality and safety in health products manufacturing.
  • Exposure to or experience leading regulatory inspections by competent authorities is advantageous.
  • Certified auditor in health product manufacturing is preferred.
  • True result-driven professional with the ability to turn challenges into actionable solutions.
  • Pragmatic thinker who can prioritize risk before taking action and maintain a helicopter mindset to see intricate big-picture connections.
  • Practical budgeting, resource allocation, and process improvement capabilities.
  • Able to develop/write/revise quality documents related to production to align with risk assessment, regulatory updates, and operational needs.
  • Required language(s): English, Chinese (to conduct training for all English and Chinese-speaking personnel in matters of production processes and to handle queries and requests from Chinese-speaking internal stakeholders).
  • High attention to detail.
  • Willing to get hands-on and contribute to the groundwork when needed.
