Job description

Our client, a global leader in the pharmaceutical and healthcare manufacturing sector, is seeking a Production Front Line Leader to oversee production operations, drive operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with strict safety and quality standards. This hands-on role requires a leader who can inspire teams, streamline production workflows, and achieve tangible results in a regulated manufacturing environment. This position is based in Tuas and operates on a 12-hour rotation shift.

Overview

As a Front Line Leader, you will be responsible for allocating responsibilities, managing day-to-day production operations, and monitoring productivity performance against established production targets. You will lead your team to achieve operational excellence while ensuring compliance with SOPs, safety regulations, and quality standards. Additionally, you will support continuous improvement initiatives, implement change management processes, and develop your team’s skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Allocate tasks and oversee production line operations to meet productivity, quality, and safety targets.
  • Monitor and manage materials, SOP adherence, and cleaning activities.
  • Plan and organize daily manufacturing operations, including production schedules, to ensure smooth connectivity with planning and support functions.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks, propose improvements, and implement changes to equipment, processes, and systems to optimize performance.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members as a Front Line Leader to achieve performance goals.
  • Promote a culture of operational discipline, teamwork, and compliance with regulated manufacturing standards.
  • Lead and manage the shift team to ensure delivery of EHS, quality, and operational performance metrics.
  • Actively participate in internal and external audits, incident investigations, and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Track, trend, and improve key operational metrics such as OEE, production output, scrap, CIP, and overtime.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Operational Excellence tools, Six Sigma problem-solving methods (Yellow/Green Belt), and root cause analysis.
  • Support project planning and execution for process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Collaborate with planning and support teams to ensure alignment and prioritization of operational activities.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to stakeholders on operational performance and improvement plans.
  • Influence and drive change within the production team and cross-functional partners.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Food Technology, Engineering, or equivalent; or Diploma with minimum 5 years’ experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Proven leadership experience in regulated manufacturing operations as a Front Line Leader.
  • Strong knowledge of process control, plant financials, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in project management, planning, and execution of operational improvement initiatives.
  • Trained in Six Sigma problem-solving tools (Yellow/Green Belt).
  • Excellent communication, coaching, influencing, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
