Job summary

Palantir Technologies in Singapore seeks an engineer for the Database Operations team to design deployment and operation models for multi-environment databases. You will automate deployments, build observability, and respond to critical production issues across Palantir’s products.

You will own large-scale migrations, collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams, and contribute to documentation and monitoring tooling to keep systems healthy in fast-changing environments.

Qualifications

• Engineering background in CS, Math, Software Engineering, Physics or similar field.
• Experience writing code in Java, Python, and Go.
• Experience with cloud/orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Helm, AWS, GCP, Azure, OpenShift).
• Experience with database technologies (Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kafka).
• Solid Linux foundation and understanding of distributed web services.
• Familiarity with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus).
• Strong written and verbal communication and quick iteration with teammates.

Responsibilities

• Build software to automate deployment and operation of production databases.
• Participate in regular on-call rotations.
• Troubleshoot and remediate production database issues.
• Contribute to post-incident reviews and follow-ups.
• Identify patterns across incidents and drive systemic improvements.
• Manage large-scale migrations of databases.
• Collaborate with customer-facing teams on incidents and installations.
• Work with database and infrastructure teams to ensure resilient deployments.
• Develop documentation, metrics, and troubleshooting tools.
• Maintain engineering and operational standards via reviews and procedures.
• Build deep expertise in production systems (Kubernetes, cloud environments, Cassandra, Elasticsearch).
