Position objective and summary
- The Product Manager is responsible for the overall operation and management of the hazardous waste treatment production line, with core technologies including evaporation, centrifugation, and filtration.
- The role ensures safe, stable, and efficient plant operations while maintaining regulatory compliance, production targets, and cost control.
- This position also serves as a key interface between plant operations and the sales/commercial team, providing technical and capacity input to support business decisions.
Main tasks / activities / responsibilities
1. Production Line Operation and Process Management
- Lead and manage daily operations of hazardous waste treatment production lines, including evaporation systems, centrifuges, and filtration units.
- Ensure all equipment operates within design and safety limits while meeting throughput and quality requirements.
- Plan and optimize operating conditions based on waste characteristics such as moisture content, oil content, salinity, and solids loading.
- Monitor key operating parameters (temperature, pressure, rotation speed, concentration, filtration flux, etc.) and respond promptly to process deviations.
2. Production Planning and Resource Coordination
- Develop and execute production plans based on incoming waste streams and sales orders.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment availability, and processing capacity to ensure smooth production flow.
- Manage production materials, consumables, and critical spare parts to control operating costs and minimize downtime.
3. Equipment and Site Management
- Oversee routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of production equipment in coordination with maintenance teams.
- Drive equipment reliability improvement and reduce unplanned shutdowns.
- Ensure good housekeeping, 5S implementation, and disciplined site management within production areas.
4. Plant Operations and Team Management
- Manage production teams, including shift planning, training, skill development, and performance evaluation.
- Ensure all production activities comply with company SOPs, EHS requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in risk assessments (RA) and management of change (MOC) for process or operational modifications.
5. Sales Interface and Technical Support
- Act as the production representative to support sales and commercial teams.
- Participate in technical feasibility assessments for new waste streams or projects.
- Provide inputs on treatment capacity, processing timelines, operational constraints, and cost considerations to support pricing and contract decisions.
- Maintain regular communication with sales on production progress, limitations, and operational risks.
6. Documentation and Compliance Support
- Ensure proper documentation of production records, operating data, and performance reports.
- Support government inspections, customer audits, and internal audits from a production and technical perspective.
Job requirements
1. Education
- Bachelor’s degree or above.
- Major in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines is preferred.
2. Professional Experience
- Minimum 10 years of industrial production line experience, preferably in hazardous waste treatment, chemical processing, environmental, or resource recovery industries.
- Proven experience in production line or plant operations management is strongly preferred.
- Hands‑on operational and management experience in one or more of the following systems:
- Evaporation systems (e.g. multi‑effect evaporation, MVR)
- Industrial centrifuges (e.g. decanter centrifuges, disc‑stack centrifuges)
- Solid‑liquid separation or filtration systems (e.g. filter press, bag filter, candle filter)
3. Technical and Management Competency
- Strong understanding of hazardous waste production processes and plant operation logic.
- Ability to make sound technical judgments and lead teams to resolve process or equipment issues.
- Capable of production planning, capacity management, manpower coordination, and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Able to provide technical input to support commercial and operational decision‑making.
4. Soft Skills and General Competency
- High sense of responsibility and strong execution capability under production pressure.
- Good communication skills, able to effectively bridge operations, sales, and management.
- Willing and able to work in a plant‑based, on‑site operational environment, including shift or flexible working arrangements if required.
