Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices (S) Pte Ltd seeks an experienced NPI Test Engineer to drive test solution development and coverage optimization for S3 products. You will support the NPI Product Engineering team across global facilities, directing SLT patterns, calibration flows and test content as part of early product cycles.

You will collaborate with multiple engineering groups to ensure test program coverage, performance and quality, while mentoring junior engineers and interfacing with OSAT partners.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or comparable discipline.
• Strong NPI experience in directing SLT test patterns, calibration flows and method development.
• Proficient in Windows, Unix and Linux operating systems.
• Experience in platform test and debug.
• IC test experience and ASIC bring up support.
• Programming in C/C++, Java or Python.
• Version control with Git.
• Familiarity with RMA debug is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct SLT test patterns, calibration test flows and method development, debug, test and characterization.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to determine SLT coverage and content.
• Engage in pre and post silicon phases including test flow planning and hardware checkout.
• Validate new product features, test conditions, methodologies and contents.
• Perform silicon characterization across process, voltage, and temperature.
• Conduct engineering evaluation and releases for high volume production.
• Drive KPIs such as test time reduction, yield improvement and quality.
• Work with regional teams during early product bring up at AMD high-volume sites.
• Represent test team on excursions and issue escalations; interface with OSAT.
• Provide technical supervision or mentoring to junior engineers.

About the role

This role is accountable for driving test solution and coverage development and optimization to meet business milestones including schedule, test time, yield, cost and quality. You will work as part of an NPI Product Engineering team, providing overall Test Engineering support for AMD's S3 products tested at global facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Direct SLT Test patterns, calibration test flows and method development, debug, test and characterization
• Collaborate with various engineering teams to determine System Level Test (SLT) coverage, content, characterization requirements, and root cause resolution for SLT device failures
• Engage in pre and post silicon phases, including test flow planning, test coverage bring-up, test flow integration, and test hardware checkout
• Validate new product features, test conditions, test methodologies, and test contents
• Perform silicon characterization across process, voltage, and temperature
• Conduct engineering evaluation, test program correlation, releases for high volume production and engineering enhancement or improvement projects
• Drive Key Performance Indicators such as test time reduction, yield debug, quality improvement across products and drive innovation on test strategy
• Work with regional teams, including Product development group and Manufacturing group in early stage bring up for product cycles at AMD high volume sites
• Represent test team on test excursions and issue escalations to identify resolution or containment action
• Interface between AMD and OSAT for test program implementation and resolution for operation issues
• Provide technical supervision or mentoring to junior engineers

About you

• Strong proven track record of NPI experience in directing SLT Test patterns, calibration test flows and method development, debug, test and characterization experience working in an NPI Product Engineering team
• Strong understanding of test program, good communication and capability to drive and deliver critical business milestones
• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or comparable disciplines
• Proficient in Windows, Unix, and Linux operating systems
• Experience in platform test and debug
• IC test experience and assist in ASIC bring up and support activities
• Technical knowledge in OS kernel, driver, BIOS firmware
• Demonstrated programming and scripting experience using various programming languages (C, C++, Java, Ruby, Perl, Python)
• Knowledgeable in version control tools (Git)
• Familiarity with RMA debug is a plus
