Primary Function
  • Sourcing and managing specific category within the Indirect space.
  • Setting and achieving performance goals/ metrics to improve total delivered/ lifecycle commodity cost, quality, technology and service.
  • Implementing procurement initiatives and process improvements, and for getting feedback from Global/Regions on the success of AMS's global procurement programs.
  • Planning and/ or obtaining materials, components, equipment and services.
  • Checks requisitions, obtains quotations, issuing of RFP/RFQ, conducting bid analysis and see through contracting and tender award process.
  • Develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate.
  • Coordinates purchasing activities with area owners from manufacturing and engineering departments (but not limited to) to maintain inventory at planned levels.
  • Monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.
  • Responsible for Qualification of New Ingredient/Packaging Materials/Key Services and Supplies; include supplier and material changes that require Change Control in the plant
Major Responsibilities
  • Act as a lead to execute assigned site category strategy to ensure best practice and price.
  • Involved in the entire Source to Pay process for assigned category
  • Ownership and Maintenance of all purchasing related Maximo and SAP master data e.g. Vendor master, Contract, Source list, Up-to-date prices.
  • Ensure site compliance with respect to purchasing policies.
  • Co-ordinate and drive Vendor Qualifications.
  • Develop Subject Matter expertise in purchasing master data in SAP SRM system and identify improvement opportunities by reducing complexity and improving efficiency.
  • Develop standardization of work procedures with respect to purchasing activities.
  • Manage supplier relationship and supplier scorecards.
  • Shopping Cart to PO conversion and approval of POs is based on the Purchasing Approval letter.
  • Follow-up on invoice resolution, ensure no aging risk to new purchases.
  • Act as back-up for other categories to maintain the Purchasing service level commitment to all users
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Business or Supply chain or related discipline
  • At least 3-5 years of experience, preferably in manufacturing - related experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing is advantageous
  • Familiar with SAP modules and SRM
  • A team player, resilient and able to work independently under tight schedule
  • Able to lead and influence without authority
  • Strong communicator and keen eye for details
