Job summary

A leading construction and engineering firm in Singapore seeks an experienced procurement manager. The role involves negotiating with suppliers, ensuring continuous supply of goods, and leading the procurement team. Ideal candidates will have a Master's degree in Business Management and at least 19 years of experience in related industries. This position requires excellent negotiation skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 19 years of extensive experience in oil and gas, chemical, and construction projects.
  • Multiple prestigious qualifications including IPMP Certified Project Manager.
  • Capable of independent work with strong negotiation skills.

Working hrs: Monday - Saturday; 8AM - 6PM
Working location: Jurong Port

Job Description:

  • To manage and negotiate pricing, commercial terms with local and overseas suppliers and recommend the most competitive suppliers and subcon.
  • With experience in Import-export related transactions affairs.
  • Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations.
  • Negotiate contracts, improved prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
  • Review specifications and ensure materials ordered meet proper quality standard and comply to contract specifications.
  • Maintain and update list of approved suppliers and their qualifications, delivery times, future development.
  • Lead and oversees the procurement team to achieve departmental objectives and professional and career growth of staff.
  • Facilitate effective communication between procurement team, internal stakeholders and vendors, to ensure smooth procurement operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Master's degree in Business Management.
  • A minimum of 19 years of extensive experience, primarily in the oil and gas, chemical, industries, as well as in large-scale public and commercial construction projects.
  • Holds multiple prestigious qualifications, including IPMP Certified Project Manager, Registered Electrical Engineer, Senior Engineer title, and is recognized as a Group Senior Procurement Expert.
  • Capable of working independently with strong negotiation skillsli>
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and possesses excellent problem-solving abilities. Excellent team member, proactive in managing issues and possess sense of responsibility and ownership in his/her work and results.
  • Able to work 6 working days on Site.
