Position Overview
We are looking for a highly competent Procurement Manager who manages the organisation's procurement strategies. He/She maintains strong relationships with supplier networks to achieve objectives of the organisation. He/She also negotiates with suppliers and manages operational procurement activities for product demands.
He/She is adept at problem solving. He/She has organisational and project management skills. He/She is able to manage multiple local and regional projects. He/She works well in a team or independently. He/She is able to motivate the team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out department's recruitment and retention efforts.
- Develop measures to ensure corporate regulations are followed.
- Develop organisation's procurement targets across teams to meet business development goals.
- Develop procurement implementation plans while ensuring procurement strategies are followed.
- Develop proposal development criteria to be used by potential sellers.
- Develop selection processes and criteria with sellers.
- Negotiate with preferred sellers on contract terms.
- Propose department's financial budget for management approval.
- Provide on-the-job training and performance evaluation to staff.
- Review and quicken payment processes for ad-hoc payment issues with sellers.
- Review audits on trade documentations and contract terms of trade transactions to reduce risks.
- Review how workplace technology approaches can be revised based on feedback.
- Review information gathered on potential sellers that fulfil requirements.
- Review inventory levels of products to identify future inventory needs.
- Review latest technology trends that can be used to improve productivity.
- Review list of sellers based on prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine best bids.
- Review outcomes using available records and information to follow work processes and procedures.
- Review sellers' performance based on quality of products received.
- Review work processes and improvement solutions.
- Support engagement sessions with organisational network and external vendors for procurement.
- Stock planning capacities
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management
- At least 4 to 5 years experience in procurement of which at least 2 years in a managerial role with team management
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Good with numbers
- Strong business acumen and vendor management in building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and vendors
- Familiar with procurement software and tools, an understanding of the technical aspects of products & services
