Job summary

A leading stone procurement firm in Singapore is seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage the procurement of stones and finished products. You will oversee supplier negotiations, track shipments, and facilitate the operations of a China Hub. Candidates should have at least a year of relevant experience, proficiency in Chinese, and an understanding of market trends in the stone industry.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year relevant experience.
  • Experience with natural stones and customized stone finished products is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Chinese is required for operations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for procurement of stones, slabs, and finished products.
  • Collaborate with Finance for Letter of Credit and payment matters.
  • Track shipments and manage vendor invoicing.
  • Manage China Hub operations including warehouse management.
  • Analyze procurement spending for cost-saving initiatives.
  • Conduct market research on suppliers and products.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers.
  • Resolve disputes with suppliers regarding product issues.
  • Negotiate pricing and payment terms with suppliers.
  • Review technical drawings for material purchases.

Job description
Role & Responsibility
  • Responsible for the procurement of stones, slabs, and customized stone finished products, ensuring quantity fulfilment, quality and timely delivery.
  • Collaborating with Finance department to make necessary arrangement for Letter of Credit opening, down payment issues and post-delivery payment after issuance of Purchase Order.
  • Tracking shipments and preparing tracking reports for Material Requisition Forms (MRFs) and Purchase Orders, while following up with vendors on invoicing and warranty matters to ensure complete and accurate material delivery.
  • Manage China Hub operation in term of warehouse management/product planning and coordination/shipment.
  • Manage and monitor project delivery schedules to ensure timely fulfilment.
  • Analyse procurement spending and recommend cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or delivery timelines.
  • Conduct market research to evaluate new suppliers, products, and emerging market trends.
  • Work closely with suppliers to resolve disputes related to defective or non-compliant products.
  • Perform cost–benefit analysis of supplier quotations and negotiate for better pricing and payment terms.
  • Review technical drawings together with the sales team to provide operational and technical advice regarding material purchases.

  • Proficieny to speak Chinese in order to deal with China Hub operation
