Procurement Engineer (Local Hire – Full Time)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Engineer to manage all purchasing activities across engineering projects. The ideal candidate will ensure cost-effective procurement, timely delivery, high supplier quality, and complete alignment with project requirements and deadlines.

This role is essential to maintaining smooth site operations and supporting our project managers, QS, store personnel, and site teams with accurate tracking, ordering, and expediting of all materials.

Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement & Sourcing
  • Source, negotiate, and purchase materials such as from approved vendors.
  • Obtain and compare multiple quotations to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Ensure all purchases comply with company SOP and client specifications.
2. Supplier Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Evaluate supplier performance (price, delivery time, quality, responsiveness).
  • Resolve supplier-related issues such as delays, wrong deliveries, or defects.
3. Project Coordination
  • Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, storekeepers, and QS teams to plan material requirements for individual projects.
  • Track and follow up on deliveries to ensure timely arrival based on project timeline.
  • Update procurement tracking sheets, delivery schedules, and project dashboards.
4. Cost & Documentation Control
  • Prepare purchase orders (PO) and ensure correctness of material codes, quantities, and pricing.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, delivery orders (DOs), supplier invoices, and material certifications.
  • Monitor budget usage and cost trends to support management’s decision‑making.
5. Delivery & Logistics Management
  • Coordinate freight, delivery schedules, and unloading arrangements with suppliers and site teams.
  • Resolve issues relating to logistics, lead time, urgent orders, or missing items.
  • Ensure materials comply with all required specifications and standards upon delivery.
6. Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure materials purchased meet client requirements and industry standards.
  • Support ISO, QA/QC audits on procurement documentation.
  • Follow company safety and compliance policies during supplier evaluation and purchasing.
