Job description

You are responsible for overseeing equipment, tool and jigs related purchasing activities. This role includes managing relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, ensuring cost efficiency, and maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

Order Process Execution
  • Collaborate with business teams to resolve stakeholder issues and execute on PO and GR processes in ERP.
  • Maintain accurate procurement data and prepare cost, forecast, and inventory reports
Supplier Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers.
  • Regularly assess supplier performance and address any issues or concerns.
  • Monitor the implementation of corrective actions.
Negotiation and Contract Management
  • Participate in negotiations, competitive comparisons, and selection processes with suppliers to secure favourable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
  • Draft contracts while ensuring compliance with legal and internal requirements
Quality and Compliance
  • Ensure that all purchased goods and services meet the required quality standards
  • Implement and enforce purchasing policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards
Professional Qualifications
  • Diploma/Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in procurement within the manufacturing industry
  • Proficient in Netsuite, Oracle, or other ERP/MRP system
  • Skilled in supplier negotiation and relationship management
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Expertise and Skills
  • Experience in the purchasing/buyer
  • Understanding of import/export operations
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for document preparation
  • Basic knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., IATF, ISO)
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Financial literacy
  • Proficiency in English
  • Understanding of Japanese is an advantage

  • Able to listen effectively and follow up appropriate instructions
  • Capable of reporting necessary information, such as issues and production progress
