Job summary

A leading engineering firm based in Singapore is looking for a Procurement Executive to manage supplier relations and procurement processes. The role involves liaising with project teams, coordinating logistics, and ensuring cost-effective procurement practices. Ideal candidates will have strong negotiation skills and prior experience in procurement, particularly in the construction industry. This full-time position operates on a 5-day work week from Monday to Friday and offers a comprehensive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong negotiation, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Organized, meticulous, and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in procurement or in the construction industry will be an advantage.

Procurement Executive

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Coordination

  • Liaise with project teams to understand material, equipment, and service requirements.
  • Source, obtain, and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Issue purchase orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Track and follow up on order status, deliveries, and backorders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.

Cost & Documentation Management

  • Ensure cost-effectiveness by comparing price, quality, and delivery lead time.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records including supplier quotations, POs, invoices, and delivery orders.
  • Support project teams in preparing procurement-related documentation and reports.
  • Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and delivery notes before submission to Finance.

Inventory & Logistics Support

  • Coordinate with project teams and storekeepers to ensure adequate inventory levels.
  • Assist in monitoring material usage and stock replenishment.
  • Handle logistics arrangements with suppliers for delivery to site or warehouse.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare and submit regular procurement status reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
  • Assist in vendor evaluation and performance reviews.
  • Assist in internal communication and coordination related to procurement activities.
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc tasks assigned by management.
