Job summary

A leading carpentry firm in Singapore is seeking a proactive Procurement Executive to manage material sourcing and supplier relationships. Candidates should have 2–3 years of procurement experience, preferably in the carpentry or manufacturing industry. Strong negotiation and analytical skills are essential, along with proficiency in English. Knowledge of wood materials is critical, and familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.

Job description

We are an established wood carpentry and fabrication factory specializing in custom furniture, interior fittings, and large-scale carpentry works. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Executive to take charge of our material sourcing and supplier management, ensuring smooth and cost-effective supply for our production needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Source, negotiate, and purchase timber, plywood, laminates, veneers, MDF, carpentry hardware, adhesives, and finishing materials.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local and overseas suppliers, ensuring timely and quality deliveries.
  • Evaluate supplier performance (pricing, lead time, quality consistency) and recommend improvements or alternatives.
  • Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to support production schedules without overstocking.
  • Review drawings and project requirements with project managers to ensure correct material specifications are procured.
  • Track market trends and pricing for wood and related materials to optimize cost control and budgeting.
  • Handle import/export documentation, permits, and regulatory compliance where required.
  • Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to resolve material shortages or quality issues quickly.
  • Maintain proper records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier databases for audit and reporting purposes.
Requirements:
  • At least 2–3 years’ procurement experience, preferably in carpentry, construction, or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of wood materials, hardware, and finishing supplies.
  • Good negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office / Google Workspace; knowledge of ERP or inventory management software is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication in English; ability to speak Mandarin/Malay is an advantage for liaising with suppliers and workers.
