Amazon AWS Infrastructure Services seeks a Procurement Category Manager for Controls to own and shape the sourcing strategy across the APJC region, covering CAPEX and OPEX procurement, supplier selection, and performance reviews.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, strategically minded, and able to influence stakeholders at all levels. You’ll drive cost savings, manage supplier risk, and work with internal partners to ensure supply continuity, with occasional travel up to 25%.
Description
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.
As a Procurement Category Manager for Controls, you will own and shape the sourcing strategy for one of AWS's most critical and supply-constrained categories across the APJC region. You will collaborate with internal business partners and suppliers to reduce risk, drive cost efficiency, and ensure supply continuity for AWS data center builds. You will develop robust mechanisms to hold suppliers accountable for performance and delivery, and drive results through competitive bidding, negotiation, and data-driven market analysis.
The ideal candidate thinks long term, drives multiple initiatives simultaneously, and communicates and influences effectively at all levels — with customers, suppliers, and senior stakeholders alike. To be successful in this role you must be highly analytical, strategically minded, and comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. A high level of customer focus, business judgement, and a genuine bias for action are essential. You must also have a demonstrated track record of managing complex projects and driving them to completion against business objectives, while embracing and modelling Amazon's Leadership Principles and have an entrepreneurial spirit with a “get it done” mentality.
AWS values diverse experiences. Even if you do not meet all of the preferred qualifications and skills listed in the job description, we encourage candidates to apply. If your career is just starting, hasn’t followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, don’t let it stop you from applying.
