Job summary

A leading medical company in Singapore is looking for a Process Engineer specializing in Molding and Extrusion. This role requires providing comprehensive engineering support to ensure optimal yield and continuous supply of molded parts. Applicants should have a Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in molding processes. The successful candidate will also manage process validations and contribute to productivity improvement projects while ensuring safety regulations are observed.

Qualifications

PURPOSE OF JOB

Purpose of this position is to provide engineering support for Molding, extrusion, and assembly processes to meet yield and continuous supply of molded parts to the process. He shall also lead process validations, equipment troubleshooting and project management in Molding, Extrusion and Process.

JOB FUNCTION

• To spear head in solving engineering issues arise from molding and extrusions at supplier site as well as in-house. Contributing in the areas where engineering efforts are needed to improve productivity, output and quality.
• Establish Molding strategy to enhance molding and in-house extrusion capability.
• Plan & execute total productive maintenance plan for Molds, Dies and equipment. Provide engineering expertise in achieving molding /extrusion process capability.
• Manage resource, headcount and equipment utilization, equipment spend and control, spare parts usage and inventory management.
• Accountable for molding & extrusion budget, capital expenditure and spending control
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by complying with all related safety regulations and environmental policies in the Company

Leadership / Team Skills

• Work with cross functional teams to achieve equipment effectiveness through total productive maintenance program and process capability through process enhancement and validation.
• Work with team to execute continuous improvement projects to achieve productivity savings and lead time reduction.

INTERACTION

Internal parties:

• Required to communicate effectively with all levels of associates.

External parties:

• Also required to communicate with other Plants Corporate/Regional/Businesses, suppliers, subcontractors, and government agencies as and when required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education:

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Relevant Experience:

• At least 5 years’ relevant experience in mold making, molding process and process troubleshooting, preferably in the medical-related industry experience in supplier and project management; as well as validation skills are preferred

Others:

• Exposure in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is an added advantage
• Action-oriented with a strong team spirit, drive for results as well as good influencing and problem-solving skills
