Purpose of the Job:
The primary focus of this role is to transform raw materials into products in the most effective, efficient, and economical manner possible. This includes planning manufacturing processes, researching technical literature for new metallurgical methods, and developing tools, processes, and equipment to produce high-quality products with optimal capital expenditure. Additionally, the role emphasizes the design, operation, and control of processes to optimize both casting and machining. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical aptitude and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role is also responsible for new production development, cost-reduction initiatives, and the implementation of automation processes.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Support end-to-end engineering development for investment casting processes, including wax pattern injection, shell coating and mold preparation, alloy melting, pouring and solidification control, CNC machining interface requirements, heat treatment, NDT, and dimensional validation.
- Develop process plans, work instructions, and technical documentation to enable stable production.
- Work closely with production, QA, and cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Lead new product introduction (NPI), including feasibility studies, cost estimation, process simulation, and tooling and machining reviews.
- Lead improvements in manufacturing plant cycle time, yield, and process stability through methodological principles, SAP data analysis, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and continuous improvement tools, supporting both new and existing engineering projects to optimize the production line.
- Liaise with customers’ engineering teams when required for technical clarification, drawing interpretation, and process qualification.
- Prepare engineering reports, prototype build documentation, and technical presentations.
- Provide support for engineering-related tasks, secondary duties, or cross-functional activities as assigned to meet operational, project, or customer requirements.
- Support CNC part machining processes, design machine fixtures, and assist operators in milling, turning, grinding, and honing operations.
- Drive advanced technologies and identify emerging trends in the manufacturing industry, both nationally and internationally.
- Perform other ad-hoc tasks assigned.
