Job summary

A leading medical technology company in Singapore is seeking an engineer responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes within the Tubing and Cannula unit. Candidates should have a degree in engineering and at least three years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a medical context. The role includes project management and implementing waste reduction initiatives in a safe and compliant environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Degree in relevant Engineering field (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical).
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience with 2 years in medical manufacturing is preferred.
  • Project Management experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in statistical analysis and analytical software, such as Minitab, JMP etc.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for process waste reduction and optimization.
  • Identifies, plans, and drives waste reduction projects.
  • Manages projects for waste reduction successfully.
  • Coaches associates on continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ensures safety and environmental accountability in the workplace.

Job Description Summary

Responsible for process waste reduction, process optimization and continuous improvement project implementation within Tubing and Cannula manufacturing unit. Provides specific engineering work related to field of expertise with broad overlap between engineering disciplines expected. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.

Job Description
  • Identifies, Plan and Drive waste reduction projects in Tubing and Cannula cell.
  • Understands top losses within the manufacturing unit and develops and implements plans to eliminate losses and drive OEE performance.
  • Project management for waste reduction projects, lead the team to complete all improvement activities successfully.
  • Coaches associates on continuous improvement methodologies within the manufacturing unit.
  • Responsible for manufacturing unit change control including validation activities, root cause analysis of prioritized OEE losses, and quality events and deviations.
  • Participate in manufacturing projects when required.
  • Safety and ISO14001 Environmental accountability. Ensure a safe, healthy, and environmentally friendly workplace by observing Company’s rules and procedures. Active involvement in prevention, elimination of potential safety hazards and participation in activities which promotes recycling, replacement, and reduction of resource materials.
  • Safety & health accountability: Safety and health are important to BD and we encourage the observance of all safety programs and training assigned to you. Such programs are to be attended in a timely manner to ensure that work tasks carried out are in accordance with our safety guidelines and SOPs.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned.
Education and Experience

  • Project Management experience is preferred. Experience in yield improvement, waste reduction projects will have an advantage.
