Job description

The Principal Speech Therapist provides evidence-based clinical services with the multidisciplinary team, manages complex cases, reviews clinical protocols, assists in the planning and development of new services, conducts quality assurance audits, co-ordinates workload distribution and manpower deployment, manages day-to-day operations, optimize use of resources, and report on monthly service indicators as well as workload statistics for the team under his/her charge.

The Principal Speech Therapist contributes to the organisation’s efforts in providing quality patient care, delivering clinical education and engaging in quality improvement/research activities, besides leading the implementation of Speech Therapy team’s initiatives and programmes. In addition, he/she is responsible for staff performance management, as well as their training and development, for both professional and support staff in the team.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent, or
  • MSc in Speech and Language Pathology (Graduate-entry level), or
  • MSc / MA in Speech-Language Pathology (U.S.A) with Certificate in Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
  • Full registration with Allied Health Professions Council with a valid AHPC Practising Certificate.
  • Valid membership with local professional body/association preferred
  • Valid BCLS Certification
