Job summary

Nscale is seeking a Principal Network Engineer for the APAC region to lead a high‑performing team maintaining core platform systems across the company.

You will partner with product and engineering leaders to evolve the platform, tackle scalable networking challenges, and drive reliability, security, and efficiency while traveling across APAC up to 50% of the time.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Network Engineering experience.
• Experience in working in a large ISP/Cloud provider environment.
• Experience with overlay Networking will be a plus.
• Must be able to travel across APAC up to 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Be a team player to scale a high-performing engineering team responsible for core platform systems used across the company
• Define and drive multi-quarter platform initiatives that improve delivery velocity, system reliability/quality based on network validations, and evolve the product in partnership with Product Management and Partner Engineering teams
• Partner closely with Product and Engineering leaders to evolve the platform as a product, balancing long-term architecture with near-term business needs
• Take ambiguous, high-impact problem areas (e.g. system scalability, vendor experience, platform abstractions) and turn them into clear execution plans
• Drive alignment across multiple teams working on complex, interdependent systems including internal platforms, infrastructure, and developer tooling
• Raise the bar on engineering quality, operational excellence, and execution across the platform organization

Principal Network Engineer – APAC

What You'll Be Doing

About You

• Masters/ Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Technology or equivalent
• At least 10+ years of Network Engineering experience
• Experience in working in a large ISP/Cloud provider environment and in Network operations role
• Experience with overlay Networking will be a plus
• Must be able to travel across APAC up to 50% of the time

Technical Experience

• Experience with Infiniband or RoCE networking
• Strong knowledge of protocols such as MPLS, BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, and DHCP. Also, VxLAN and EVPN will be an added advantage
• Experience with scripting or automation and Data Centre design – Python preferred, but must demonstrate expertise in scripting or compiled language
• Experience with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and SSL, network monitoring, and telemetry solutions
• Experience with network modelling and programming – YANG, OpenConfig, NETCONF
• Ability to use professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
• Capable of working under limited supervision
• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
• Excellent judgment in influencing product roadmap direction, features, and priorities.
• Participate in an on-call rotation
