Job summary

At Atlassian, we’re building a new GenAI Products & Innovation Forge in Singapore. This Principal ML Engineer role combines technical leadership with hands-on development to push GenAI boundaries across enterprise data and workflows.

You’ll prototype fast, evaluate groundedness and hallucination, scale prototypes to production, and mentor a tiger team while collaborating with product and platform squads to turn breakthroughs into scalable systems.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in ML/AI engineering focusing on LLMs, NLP, or search.
• Proven track record shipping ML-powered or GenAI products.
• Hands-on experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and embeddings.

Responsibilities

• Design and build knowledge-grounded GenAI approaches (LLMs, embeddings, multimodal modeling).
• Lead rapid prototyping, from agentic workflows to GenAI-powered assistants.
• Mentor engineers and scientists, aligning teams toward scalable GenAI systems.
• Shape the roadmap for the Forge and drive cross‑team collaboration.
