Job summary

Job Description

The Principal Executive is part of Defence Collective Singapore (DCS’s) Education team, which sits within the Programmes Cluster. You will be part of the team responsible for the design, development, and delivery of curriculum-aligned and pedagogically-innovative learning experiences within the museum and gallery context. Grounded in best practices from museum education and formal education, this team ensures that all programmes support active engagement, critical thinking, and active citizenry in the context of Singapore’s national defence and national education.

You will focus on signature school (defence and national education) programmes and events, which aims to cater to a wide student audience, and should include pedagogically forward methods of engagement and high-quality resources.

This position will report to Manager, Education within the Programmes Cluster.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement educational programmes (on-site workshops, digital programmes, cohort programmes) and resources utilising innovative and relevant pedagogy and aligned to CCE and National Education objectives
  • Work with Manager to keep to the timelines and deliverables on projects under purview
  • Liaise with relevant partners to enhance the programme offerings or events
  • Facilitate school (student and teacher) programmes and events and deliver inquiry-driven, hands‑on experiences using museum resources
  • Monitor and report on feedback on programmes and events conducted
  • Provide support to teams within Programmes Cluster on key NE events.
  • Liaise with vendors in procuring goods and services for programme execution
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Degree in Arts & Social Sciences or relevant discipline
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Ministry of Education) is preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in organising and delivering events or programmes (curriculum‑based, sports, leadership, arts, etc.)
  • Able to demonstrate excellent problem‑solving, communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills
  • Effective in engaging students
  • Great passion for The Singapore Defence Story, as well as interest in contemporary issues (national and global)
  • Good team player, motivated and takes initiative
  • Good command of spoken and written English
  • Good knowledge and application of MS Office applications, especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Good project management skills
  • Basic graphic design skills (Photoshop, Illustrator) would be advantageous
