Job summary

GlobalFoundries in Singapore is seeking a Principal Engineer in reliability who will work with fab and technology development teams to design reliability test structures, perform testing and analysis, and assess risks for process changes.

You should have a strong background in gate oxide, transistor device, or BEOL reliability, with 7+ years in semiconductor reliability; familiarity with Minitab, JMP, FMEA, and 8D is advantageous. This role emphasizes collaboration and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor / Master / PhD Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Materials or Physics).
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in semiconductor reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support on qualifications & reliability improvements including plan definition, test condition determination, hardware & software design for test requests, test results analysis and recommendations.
  • Execute benchmarking on reliability testing methodology, process qualification criteria & reliability design rules.
  • Design and characterize reliability test structures for qualification and define reliability layout rules and models.
  • Establish reliability test requirements for new/advanced technology.
  • Provide technical support to customers on building reliability into final products.
  • Continuously improve reliability test cycle time & accuracy through refinement of test structure design and methodologies.
  • Play key role in new technology core team to build reliability into the device/process.
  • Assess reliability risk for process changes, fab excursions and field failures from customers.
  • Build up modeling for HCI/NBTI/TDDB/PID/EM/BEOL TDDB failure mechanisms and use it to support IC designers’ reliability risk assessment.
  • Own the definition, documentation and maintenance of test procedures, findings & tools, plus training of reliability staff.

Introduction:

As Principal Engineer in reliability, you will need to have basic reliability knowledge and understanding of the reliability failure mechanisms, preferably in gate oxide, transistor device and/or back-end-of-line reliability. Semiconductor process and/or device physics knowledge is a plus. Your responsibilities are to collaborate with fab and technology development teams and perform reliability test structure design, reliability testing and analysis, risk assessments and design rule proposals.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support on qualifications & reliability improvements i.e. qualification plan definition, test condition determination, hardware & software design for special test requests, test results analysis and provide recommendations for competitiveness & improvement.

Qualifications & Experiences:

  • Bachelor / Master / PhD Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Materials or Physics).

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in semiconductor reliability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Able to work under tight project timeline.

  • Knowledge of Minitab, JMP, FMEA, 8D is an advantage.
