A leading semiconductor company in Singapore is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead a team focusing on next-generation defect detection. You will drive continuous improvement, mentor staff, and develop technology roadmaps to address future needs. As a Principal Engineer in NAND TD RDA , you will lead a team in the use of next-generation defect detection equipment and processes to identify and solve issues. The goal of this position is to accelerate cycles of learning and technology transfer in Technology Development. We need leaders who are passionate about developing their team, delivering solutions to our internal customers, and driving our supplier's road maps to meet our future inspection needs. This position will provide the opportunity for you to collaborate with process integration, process development, data science, and yield analysis within and outside Technology Development. As a Technology Development RDA Lead, your leadership and innovation will have the ability to impact the team globally. You and your team will be responsible to support experimentation, data analysis, baseline health metrics, and systematic and random defect improvement through partnering with others in Technical Development and Global Manufacturing.
Responsibility includes, but not limited to:
Encourage a safe work environment
Mentor your team in analyzing experimental process flows looking for defect anomalies and quarantining process tools that are out of control
Build an environment of continuous improvement process (CIP) demeanor, looking for ways to improve operations, and how to make a difference today
Develop inspection technology roadmaps to drive our internal and external partners enabling a clear path to future advanced memory needs
Manage projects internal to your team and across functional areas
Direct your team to recognize, identify, and raise awareness of process anomalies
Develop clear metrics for program health and communicate in an effective manor to set program priorities
Build and improve upon detection techniques and identify new ways to use existing tools to identify relevant process issues
Active participation in technical meetings and subsequently, synthesize new opportunities or novel approaches from the same
Collaborate with the global network to develop best known methods and maintain alignment between sites
Proficiency in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling to derive actionable insights from complex datasets is an added advantage
PhD /Masters in Applied Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Microelectronics or Electrical and Electronics Engineering
6-8 years RDA experience in the semiconductor industry working in the process development for Equipment/Applications
6 - 8 years of experience in RDA Defect, semiconductor optical and electron beam inspection methods and e-beam technologies
Exposure in various tools like KLA, AMAT
Proactive and passionate about learning and mentoring your team, and a leader drawn to creative problem solving and innovative solutions, will investigate process anomalies, root cause analysis, data manipulation, and correlations
Proven track record in innovating and drive effective change in an energizing environment
Has shown combination of flexibility and tenacity in the pursuit of goals
Excellent technical, communication, and analytical skills
Develops new or modified process formulations, defines processing or handling equipment requirements and specifications, and reviews processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of products. Involvement may begin at any step from pilot plant to full-scale manufacturing. Coordinates design requirement review with appropriate engineering/scientific personnel to ensure compatibility of processing methods. Compiles and evaluates test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications. May conceive and plan projects involving definition and selection of new concepts, equipment automation technology, and approaches in the processing or development of new or improved processes.
