As the Global Facilities Regional Engineering Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for providing technical support, expertise, and lead business process alignment on construction project design, management, schedule, cost control, testing & commissioning, operational and maintenance programs for the facility Electrical systems at all manufacturing sites in your location or region.
You will represent facility design standard alignment, construction project management, O&M BKM alignment initiatives and support the Global Facilities Central Engineering Team, Construction Team, Line Planning Team and O&M Team in providing critical design standard alignment, supplier quality improvement, operational and maintenance input and support construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Project: Design and construction of regional green field projects with alignment to global standards and collaboration with central sustainability, cost, construction and line planning team.
- Engineering support for site projects, Alpha to Beta technology transfer and sustainability projects.
- Review and approve site capacity expansion and sustainability capex.
- Review priority and make business driven decisions on Facilities Reliability Improvement project capex.
- Reliability: Engineering support for site system improvement projects (System Reliability Improvements, Quality Improvement and Equipment EOL replacements).
- Oversee regional efforts and identify opportunities to align strategic programs such as BCP, Critical spec, Quality Defense line.
- Engineering support for major SIPP review.
- Regional events lesson learned sharing and influence of global standards development.
- Communication: Single point of contact for regional sites and GFC central teams.
- Provide alignment on metrics reporting.
- Engineering, O&M and Others: Expert understanding of each site's Electrical systems operational and maintenance capabilities to provide critical support.
- Provide site/regional support for global facility initiatives at your location or region.
- Technically lead a global cross functional team focused on project, design, construction, operational excellence with the site Electrical systems engineers.
- Provide support to all sites including on site presence for construction project and critical Electrical failures.
- Actively involved in TPM implementation and alignment along with ongoing support for Electrical systems.
- Drive improvement in the quality of utilities through variation reduction (SPC). Drive alignment for common methodologies including SPC, conformance, SIPP’s, MOC and 8D problem solving throughout the network for Electrical systems.
- Identify and deploy cost reduction efforts while optimizing and reducing energy usage for Electrical systems throughout the network.
- Assess and insure effective and consistent PM and predictive maintenance programs, procedures and checklists across the network.
- Regular communication with the site engineering and O&M teams on status and performance.
- Analyze and benchmark equipment performance.
- Identify and develop training and certification programs that support global and site efforts.
- Develop appropriate metrics to drive improvement (On time PM’s, MTTF, MTTR etc.).
- Send out regular updates with key items of focus and initiatives.
- Review FIPA/METS events and provide recommendations to drive the reduction of critical Electrical impact events.
- Collaborate with the construction / engineering team to ensure alignment on projects.
- Support the network effort to implement, monitor and drive continuous improvement for Micron’s Sustainability programs in alignment with the long-term Sustainability strategy.
- Benchmark system performance and drive Best-In-Class approach (BICs) across network.
- In depth review of site sustainability projects and sustainability data monitoring to support site’s and company’s sustainability targets.
- Provide technical advice and support to overcome challenges and roadblocks in project planning & execution.
- Support sustainability projects achievement data acquisition and validation in central tracking depository.
- Conduct, analyze and create improvement actions based on electrical systems studies using design software tools such as SKM or ETAP.
- Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one's scope of work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
- 8+ years of Facility Engineering experience; preference for Semiconductor Industry experience.
- Excellent analytical, decision making, interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to solve problems across multi‑functional and multi‑cultural groups, manage multiple priorities and lead teams to meet challenging deadlines and goals.
- Proven ability to continuously improve systems and processes and foster strong relationships across cross‑functional and multicultural groups.
