Job summary

NCS is a leading AI tech services company in Asia Pacific. We seek a Principal AI Architect to drive architectural integrity across multi-year AI programs, engaging with C‑level and senior client stakeholders to shape platform roadmaps and act as the technical authority for ML, GenAI, and agentic AI in our AI practice.

You will design and validate architectures hands-on, define design patterns, governance, and cost models, and mentor engineers while collaborating across multi-vendor environments

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years in AI/ML engineering or software engineering with leadership.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or equivalent; MSc/PhD advantageous.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale AI programmes end-to-end — not just contributing to them.
• Experience building AI products or platforms from scratch, or serving as lead architect on enterprise AI programmes.
• Background in system integration, technical consultancy, or professional services — with architecture quality accountability in client engagements.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end technical architecture for large-scale AI programmes: data ingestion, model training, inference, and orchestration.
• Produce detailed design pattern specifications, interaction diagrams, data flow models, and failure analyses.
• Make and defend technically grounded design decisions: LLM selection, cost modelling, and build-vs-buy analysis.
• Design enterprise agentic AI systems with multi-agent orchestration, memory, planning, and tool integration.
• Specify AI governance and safety architectures aligned to standards (NIST RMF, MAS TRM).
• Lead architecture reviews and mentor AI engineers; contribute to presales with credible proposals.
