Job description

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated English Preschool Teacher to nurture children aged 2–6 years old, in line with ECDA’s Nurturing Early Learners (NEL) Framework. The role focuses on holistic development (physical, cognitive, language, social‑emotional, aesthetic‑creative) in a safe, inclusive Chinese Immersion environment, with tailored practices for toddlers (2–3 years) and preschoolers (4–6 years), while complying with ECDA licensing and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver English-language learning experiences aligned with the NEL Framework’s Learning Goals and Developmental Milestones, adapting content for 2–3-year-olds (toddlers) and 3–6-year-olds (preschoolers).
  • For toddlers: Focus on sensory‑motor exploration, basic English vocabulary, social bonding, and self‑help skills (e.g., feeding, dressing) as guided by ECDA’s toddler care guidelines.
  • For preschoolers: Develop listening, speaking, pre‑literacy, and pre‑numeracy skills through play‑based, inquiry‑led activities that integrate ECDA’s emphasis on active learning.
  • Conduct systematic observations and document children’s progress, providing timely feedback to parents and collaborating with educators to support diverse learning needs (including children with developmental needs).
  • Maintain a safe, hygienic, and stimulating classroom environment that meets ECDA’s health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper management of learning materials and space for age‑appropriate movement.
  • Foster strong home‑school partnerships, adhering to ECDA guidelines for parent communication, and provide resources to support English language development at home.
  • Uphold ECDA’s Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct for early childhood educators, ensuring respect for diversity, confidentiality, and child protection.
  • Participate in ECDA-mandated professional development, curriculum reviews, and school quality improvement processes.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Must hold an ECDA‑approved Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education (DECCE) or higher qualification (e.g., Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education). For teaching English as the medium of instruction, proficiency in English must meet ECDA’s language standards.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 to 2 years of teaching experience with children aged 2–6 in an ECDA‑licensed preschool (experience with both toddlers and preschoolers is advantageous).
  • Must pass ECDA‑mandated background checks (including criminal record and medical screening); commitment to upholding ECDA’s quality standards for early childhood education.
  • Valid ECDA Teaching License LON (or eligibility to obtain one).
  • Preferably has a valid certification in Child First Aid.
  • Work hours follow ECDA guidelines, with weekdays as core hours and occasional involvement in school events on Saturdays.
