Qualifications
  • Candidates MUST possess at least a Diploma in Early Childhood and Education - Teaching (DECCE-T).ACEY or L1 for lower classes.
  • At least 2 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Those with a minimum Degree in ECCE, at least 8 years’ experience in Curriculum Planning may be considered for the Curriculum Specialist position.
  • Applicants WITHOUT Early Childhood certificate need not apply.
  • Required Skill(s): Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
  • Plan the programme for the class according to the centre's pedagogy.
  • Review teaching and learning plans to meet the diverse needs of children.
  • Plan observation of children and prepare a portfolio as part of summative assessment.
  • Customise all aspects of classroom management strategies focusing on positive guidance, valuing children's rights and diversity.
  • Guide assistant teachers in engaging children meaningfully in accordance with the centre's pedagogy.
  • Provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for children to think, wonder and question.
  • Design quality learning environment with developmentally appropriate learning materials and resources.
  • Evaluate documentation of children's learning and development to inform planning and teaching better.
  • Identify potential teaching and learning methods, tools and assistive technology based on emerging trends in the sector.
  • Identify opportunities to collaborate with families to ensure continuity of care and learning between the home and the Centre.
  • Develop outreach activities to promote Centre programmes and services.
