Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking an experienced communications professional with a strong background in public relations and media engagement, complemented by experience in integrated marketing communications. The role involves developing strategic communications plans, managing media relations, crafting compelling messaging and coordinating communications across multiple channels to drive awareness of business programmes and initiatives.

Contract Duration: 12 months

Salary: Up to $6,500/month

What to expect:

• Develop and implement end-to-end public relations and communications plans aligned with business priorities, with a focus on strengthening public awareness and shaping public narratives.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into effective communications strategies, key messages and media engagement plans.
• Manage media relations activities, including journalist engagement, media pitching, press materials, media briefings and interview requests.
• Develop communications materials, including press releases, key messages, talking points, speeches and content for speaking engagements.
• Analyse media coverage, public sentiment, data and industry developments to inform communications strategies and identify opportunities to strengthen public engagement.
• Coordinate integrated communications efforts across relevant channels to ensure consistent messaging and reinforce PR objectives.
• Collaborate with internal teams, government agencies, ministries and external industry partners to align communications plans and messaging.
• Manage external PR agencies, vendors and suppliers to ensure effective execution and timely delivery of communications initiatives.

What we are looking for:

• Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related discipline.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in public relations, media relations, corporate communications or government communications.
• Strong PR and media relations experience, including developing communications strategies, engaging journalists and pitching stories to media outlets.
• Experience in integrated marketing communications, with an understanding of how to coordinate messaging across multiple channels to support broader communications objectives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop clear, compelling and audience-appropriate messaging.
• Strong project management, analytical and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience managing external agencies, vendors and suppliers.
• Ability to understand business needs and translate them into effective communications plans.
• Proactive, adaptable and resourceful, with a keen interest in the technology industry, business developments and the evolving media landscape.
