A leading commodities trading firm in Singapore seeks a candidate for the APAC Power Desk to optimize portfolios and develop data-driven trading strategies. The role requires strong statistical, analytical, and programming skills, along with substantial experience in the trading sector. Candidates will be responsible for executing trading strategies, developing predictive models, and enhancing business operations in the APAC market.

The individual will join the APAC Power Desk as a key contributor to portfolio optimization efforts and the development of data-driven trading strategies across the APAC power and energy markets.
- Portfolio optimization & management responsibilities including:
- Key contributor to the overall results and performance of the trading & origination activities in APAC region and bring new ideas of models to improve the desk P&L.
- Develop and enhance Power, gas, environmental, weather and transmission trading business activities in the APAC region.
- Contribute to establishing the framework for developing and implementing solutions that support trading activities.
- Proactively identify, propose, and develop new profitable business opportunities while adding value to the current business.
- Increase market reach and brand in APAC, develop solid business relationships with customers, counterparties and stakeholders
- Monitor regulatory and policy changes affecting the power markets
- Perform other ad-hoc duties assigned by manager
