A leading technology services company in Singapore is seeking an experienced PostgreSQL DBA with over 7 years of proven expertise. The role focuses on database replication, high availability, and installation of PostgreSQL under Linux. Candidates must possess scripting skills for automation, strong database tuning expertise, and good spoken/written communication skills. Experience with additional database technologies like MSSQL or Oracle is a plus. This role requires commitment to 24/7 support.

Job description

Job Overview

• Having experience of 7+ years as PostgreSQL DBA
• Architect database replication, high availability concepts
• Installation and upgrade of PostgreSQL on 10/12/14 version under Linux platforms
• Good scripting skills to automate regular DBA admin tasks
• Strong experience on backup utilities or tools like BARMAN & PostgreSQL dump/load, Cohesity and Telegraf/Helios
• Applying minor version upgrade in standalone and standby servers
• Should have good command over speaking and writing
• Strong experience on database and SQL queries tuning for PostgreSQL databases
• Customer‑facing for all operational issues and activities
• Strong experience configuring and troubleshooting physical standby database using repmgr
• Good grasp over tables fine‑tuning and troubleshooting
• Implement backup and recovery of PostgreSQL databases for various scenarios
• Administration over DB objects including tables, clusters, views, procedures, etc.
• Good in impact analysis of DB change or DB design change
• In‑depth understanding of advanced architectures (repmgr)
• Good understanding of core support processes and change management, maintain documentation standards
• Must have experience in database tuning
• Responsible for installation, upgrades (database), vendor support, database tuning, cloning
• Able to work in 24×7 support

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a bachelors degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree (MCA/BE/BSC or SC computer science)
• Having previous banking BAU support will be an added advantage
• Having experience on additional database technologies MSSQL, DB2 or Oracle will be an added advantage
• At least 7 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position
• Preferably senior executives specializing in IT/Computer Network/System/Database Administration or equivalent
