Key Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Design and Development: Create control and regulation programs for automated systems and machines using PLC programming languages like Ladder Diagram or Structured Text.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve faults in existing PLC systems and conduct maintenance tasks to ensure continuous operation.
- System Commissioning: Oversee the installation and integration of programs into physical processes, often on-site, and then introduce the system to the customer.
- Optimization: Further develop and optimize control programs and processes to enhance efficiency, operability, and production output.
- Visualization and Documentation: Create plans, instructions, and documentation for the PLC systems, which includes diagrams and overviews of system functions.
- Project Management: Analyze client requirements and coordinate projects with various stakeholders, from technical discussions and project scheduling to execution and commissioning.

- On-site Customer Support and Training: Provide technical assistance and training to customers and corporate personnel on the safe and efficient use of PLC systems.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional engineering teams and other technicians to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and implement system improvements.
- Client Consultation: Use technical expertise to advise clients on potential conversions or new system applications, and assist in sales activities.
- Additional Tasks: Perform ad-hoc duties as required.
Skills & Knowledge Required
- PLC Programming Languages: Proficiency in PLC systems like OMRON, Mitsubshi, Siemens, and in PLC languages such as Ladder Diagram (LD), Structured Text (ST), Sequential Function Chart (SFC), and Instruction List (IL).
- Communication Protocols: Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, and OPC.
- SCADA Experience: Familiar with hands-on experience in SCADA softwares like Wonderware, Ignition, GE iFix.
- Automation and Engineering: A strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and process engineering principles related to automation.
- Technical Documentation: Skills in creating and interpreting schematic and logic flow diagrams.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant certifications in PLC and SCADA systems are a plus.

Experience

- Familiarity with process automation and control system engineering best practices.
