Job summary

A leading technology services firm in Singapore is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to design and implement automation frameworks and manage application lifecycle tasks. The ideal candidate will have expertise in containerization, automation tools, and strong communication skills. Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year in Platform engineer role or similar role in server infrastructure setup.
• Experience in software-defined/hardware infrastructure (VSphere, Nutanix).
• Good understanding of hardware infrastructure systems (network switches, firewalls, routers) and Linux operating system.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement an automation framework for application lifecycle.
• Perform operations tasks such as monitoring application performance.
• Monitor network performance to ensure platform can handle increased traffic.
• Develop new technologies for existing or new applications.
• Maintain systems underlying the application platform.

Job description

About the job:

• Designing and implementing an automation framework for all aspects of the application lifecycle, including build, test, and deployment.
• Implements reusable tools and self-service capabilities with automated infrastructure operations, improving the developer experience and productivity.
• Performing operations tasks such as monitoring application performance over time or troubleshooting issues with production applications.
• Monitoring network performance to ensure that the platform can handle increased traffic from new applications or services.
• Designing, building, and maintaining the systems underlying an application platform.
• Developing new technologies to support existing applications or creating new applications using new technologies.
• Maintains and ensure Platform adheres to SLA.
• Provides Templates for Tenants’ consumption
• Provides and documents SOPs, Playbooks/Runbooks

About You:

• Experience with implementing containerization technologies such as Redhat Openshift/Kubernetes
• Experience with working on hybrid environments such as AWS/On-prem
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible/Terraform/AWS Cloud Formation
• Experience with SAST/DAST tools such as Sonarqube/Fortify SCA/Webinspect
• Experience with installation and configuration of PostgreSQL databases
• Experience with installation and configuration of Redhat SSO
• Experience with load balancing setup for TCP/IP/HTTP/DNS/routings
• Knowledge of IT security standards such as CIS
• Knowledge of machine learning and setup of MLOps tools such as H2O
• Good knowledge of hardware technologies, such as NAS/SAN/Nutanix

Desired Background:

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Communications Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year in Platform engineer role or similar role in server infrastructure setup
• Experience in software-defined/hardware infrastructure (VSphere, Nutanix).
• Knowledge with infrastructure provision tools (Docker, Ansible etc.).
• Good understanding of hardware infrastructure systems (network switches, firewalls, routers etc.) and Linux operating system.
• Self-motivated and excellent communication skills.
• Experience in public sector projects would be an advantage
