Job description

A1 Main Contractor with a strong portfolio of public and private building developments, is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to oversee project planning, scheduling, and progress control across major building projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving effective project planning and ensuring timely, cost-efficient, and high-quality project delivery in alignment with client and stakeholder expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation, coordination, and monitoring of project master programmes for building works from tender to project completion stages.
  • Develop detailed construction schedules, resource plans, and progress tracking systems using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Directors, Project Managers, and site teams to ensure alignment between site execution plans and overall project timelines.
  • Analyze project progress and identify potential delays, risks, and bottlenecks, proposing mitigation measures proactively.
  • Monitor subcontractors’ and suppliers’ schedules to ensure synchronization with the main construction programme.
  • Support tender planning activities, including time–cost analysis, construction sequencing, and methodology planning.
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports, schedule forecasts, and recovery plans for management and client review.
  • Lead and mentor a team of planning engineers in ensuring planning discipline and consistency across multiple projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in project planning within main contractor environments.
  • Proven track record in building projects
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
  • Excellent understanding of construction sequencing, resource planning, and project risk management.
