Job summary

MTC Consulting Pte. Ltd., Loyang, Singapore, is seeking an experienced Construction Planning Engineer to develop, maintain and monitor project programmes for large-scale building projects.

You will lead the planning team, analyse critical paths, prepare S-curves and KPI reports, and coordinate with project managers, engineers and subcontractors to drive on-time performance. Primavera P6 expertise is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• 8–10 years of scheduling experience in large-scale construction.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6; MS Project is a plus.
• Strong baseline programme development, CP analysis and progress monitoring.
• Experience with EOT, delay analysis and contractual claims.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update project programmes (baseline, working, recovery).
• Monitor progress against schedules and identify delays.
• Prepare schedules, S-curves, KPIs and manpower histograms.
• Conduct risk assessments and mitigation for schedule performance.
• Lead planning team and coordinate with PMs, engineers and subcontractors.
• Drive improvements in planning processes and reporting.

Job description

Location: Loyang

Working Hours: 8am to 6pm, 5.5 days (Monday to Saturday)

17 days AL + Variable Bonus

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update project programmes, including baseline, working and recovery programmes, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.

• Monitor project progress against approved schedules, identify delays and analyse critical path activities.

• Prepare and review project schedules, progress reports, S-curves, manpower histograms and key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Conduct schedule risk assessments and recommend mitigation measures to minimise delays and improve project performance.

• Perform delay analysis and Extension of Time (EOT) assessments, supporting the preparation of claims and variation reports.

• Maintain accurate planning documentation, programme change logs and historical project records.

• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports, presenting key findings and recommendations to senior management and clients.

• Lead and coordinate the planning team, working closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors and other stakeholders.

• Drive continuous improvement in planning processes, project controls and reporting practices.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline, or equivalent qualification.

• Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in construction planning and scheduling, preferably involving large-scale building or complex construction projects.

• Proficiency in Primavera P6 is mandatory. Knowledge of Microsoft Project is an advantage.

• Strong experience in baseline programme development, critical path analysis, schedule recovery and progress monitoring.

• Good knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, delay analysis, EOT procedures and contractual claims.
