Job Purpose

As the Road Transport Manager, you will oversee all transport logistics, route planning, driver coordination, and safety compliance for our fleet servicing EM & various construction sites. You will ensure adherence to strict safety protocols, develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and optimize transport efficiency while maintaining full regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Route & Fleet Management

  • Plan and optimize transport routes for drivers to ensure timely, cost-effective deliveries.
  • Monitor real-time vehicle tracking and adjust schedules for disruptions (traffic, weather, site restrictions).
  • Coordinate with EM site managers to align transport schedules with operational needs.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure 100% compliance with EM’s safety standards, local transport laws, and hazardous materials regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, driver briefings, and vehicle inspections.
  • Implement and enforce SOPs for safe loading/unloading, emergency response, and incident reporting.

SOP Development & Training

  • Develop and update transportation SOPs in line with EM and industry best practices.
  • Train drivers and logistics staff on safety protocols, defensive driving, and spill prevention.
  • Maintain records of compliance certifications, licenses, and permits.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with ExxonMobil’s logistics team, subcontractors, and authorities to ensure smooth operations.
  • Address and resolve transport-related issues (delays, breakdowns, safety violations) promptly.
Requirements
  • Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field / experience.
  • 5+ years in road transport management, preferably in oil/gas or hazardous materials.
  • Strong knowledge of EM’s safety standards (or similar oil & gas compliance).
  • Experience in route optimization software (e.g., GPS tracking, TMS).
  • Leadership skills to manage drivers and subcontractors.
