Planner Buyer (Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) / Jurong / Contract)

SUMMARY

Within the Manufacturing Planning Department, the Planner/Buyer will be responsible for analyzing, scheduling, issuing Purchase Orders and coordinating with suppliers to ensure materials availability of Raw Materials and Packaging components for manufacturing to meet customer delivery requirements. Key areas also include evaluations of materials stock and forecast, work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure materials availability, continuous improvement of responsible areas and support activities related to SAP Master data setup to ensure MRP accuracy.

Convert Purchase Requisition and Issue Purchase Order within materials lead‑time to support operational needs. Coordinates with suppliers for any delayed or expedited shipments to meet operational needs.

Responsible for long‑term material inventory for assigned materials to established goals, working with the Manufacturing Planner.

Responsible for material readiness to support production schedule. Key activities for this include, but are not limited to:

  • Material Requirement analysis to create material delivery schedule, working with the Planner/Scheduler
  • Creation and issuance of Purchase Order
  • Supplier follow‑up for Order delivery
  • Follow‑up for expedited materials to ensure readiness and coordinate with warehouse and QC for materials availability
  • Creation of SAP material code

Supports activities related to System maintenance inclusive of SAP Material Master setup, MRP parameter definition and reporting to ensure that MRP and other systems are accurate and up to date.

This position should be able to work independently with limited oversight and supervision to analyze the requirements for raw and packaging materials, order appropriately, and ensure readiness for production.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure raw material and packaging components availability by closely cooperating with external Supplier and internal cross functional groups (Purchasing, Warehouse, Quality Control and Planner/Scheduler) to support manufacturing plan production requirements,
  • Analyze MRP action messages to ensure actions are taken promptly to mitigate any raw materials and packaging components supply shortages.
  • Responsible for converting purchase requisition, creating purchase order and issuing delivery schedules to suppliers
  • Delineate appropriate inventory strategies to manage adequate inventory levels and monitor expired, obsolete and rejected material to avoid impact to the operations area.
  • Anticipate and communicate any material shortages prior to the official publication of the detailed production schedule, closely cooperating with the Planner/Scheduler.
  • Create and periodically review material master data information in MRP1-4 such as MRP type, reorder point, Lot sizing procedure, Planned Delivery Time, GR processing time, Safety stocks, to ensure data integrity for assigned materials.
  • Responsible for raw material and packaging inventory levels to targeted values to continuously balance and improve service and inventory turns.
  • Evaluate existing procedure related to materials planning process and implement adequate updates, as needed.
  • Support Manager, Manufacturing Planning in any other special tasks and analysis as requested.

REQUIREMENTS
Education
  • Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor in Science (BS), Industrial Management, Material Management or Engineering degree.
Technical and computer skills
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Proficiency on the use of computer software such as Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Trackwise is a plus
