The PT/OT Lecturer is responsible for planning, delivering, assessing, and continuously improving training programs to ensure students meet the required competency standards. This role ensures training remains relevant, up-to-date, and compliant with the Institute.
1. RESPONSIBILITIES
- To plan, deliver training and assessment methodology to meet the identified competency requirements of the target group, ensuring that the training remains current and relevant to meet the standards required by Institute and external accreditation authorities.
- To participate actively in continuing professional education and training as required by Institute and/or by the regulatory bodies.
- To maintain current and updated with the latest learning and teaching methodologies and technologies.
- To adhere to the training standards and quality as required by Institute and/or by the various regulatory bodies / governing agencies.
2. MAIN DUTIES
- To carry out the duties of a lecturer, clinical instructor, counselor and mentor to students assigned to you in your course of duties.
- To manage, coordinate and supervise course instructions and assessments effectively, without compromising training standards and quality.
- To act as a liaison between external healthcare institutions and Institute for clinical attachment purposes.
3. SECONDARY DUTIES
- To contribute to the improvement of training curriculum, teaching materials, instructional quality and course delivery methodology via:
- Review of courseware to ensure it is current and relevant to the healthcare industry.
- Participation in curriculum course reviews.
- To develop new courses/programmes, only if assigned;
- Other related assignments and activates as assigned and mutually agreed.
Requirements
- At least a bachelor degree in physiotherapy/occupational therapy from a recognised university;
- Obtained Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) or Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) is preferred.
- Currently registered as a physiotherapist/occupational therapist in Singapore
- At least 5 years of experience in physiotherapy/occupational therapy role;
- At least 2 years of experience as a therapy educator would be advantageous.
Working Hours
- For part-time position: able to commit at least 12 days per month
- For freelance associate position: based on needs basis, training may range from 4 – 8 hours per session
- Trainings are generally conducted on weekdays, between 8.30am and 6.00pm
