Job summary

A local welfare organization in Singapore is seeking a Physiotherapist to assess clients and develop care plans. Responsibilities include providing physiotherapy interventions, conducting group therapy, and training caregivers. The ideal candidate holds a diploma or degree in Physiotherapy and possesses registration with the Allied Health Professional Council. Proficiency in English and conversational Mandarin is preferred. This role is vital in serving the needy and vulnerable population.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Physiotherapy required.
  • Registration with the Allied Health Professional Council in Singapore is mandatory.
  • Ability to converse in Mandarin and dialects is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Assess clients for maintenance day care and rehabilitation programmes.
  • Develop and implement care plans with care team members.
  • Provide physiotherapy interventions based on assessments.
  • Conduct and supervise group therapy and exercises.
  • Train caregivers and staff through education sessions.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Involve in the care teams assessment of clients in maintenance day care, dementia day care and community rehabilitative programmes;
  • Develop and implement care plans for clients and their caregivers with other care team members;
  • Perform assessment of the client’s physical mobility and falls risk;
  • Provide appropriate physiotherapy interventions based on assessment of clients;
  • Conduct functional mobility training, including the prescription and use of appropriate mobility and/or walking aids;
  • Plan, implement and evaluate individual and group physical activity and exercise programmes;
  • Conduct and/or supervise group therapy and exercises for the clients;
  • Conduct education and training for client’s caregivers; provides support as required;
  • Conduct in-service training or sessions for care staff and volunteers;
  • Maintain documentation of clients’ progress and outcomes of care provision;
  • Recommend new strategies to the Manager (FHGCC);
Qualifications
  • Diploma/degree in Physiotherapy
  • Obtained full registration with the Allied Health Professional Council in Singapore
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Ability to converse in Mandarin and major dialects is an advantage (in order to conduct education and training for Mandarin and dialect speaking client’s caregivers and provides support as required.)
  • A mature individual and a team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Possess analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Passionate in serving the needy and vulnerable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – MS Word and Excel
